Terms and Conditions

Last updated 16 October 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the team behind StudioToStage (“we”, “us”) for the StudioToStage apps for iPhone and Android, the web app and this website (together, “StudioToStage”). By creating an account or ticking “I accept”, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use StudioToStage.

1. Who can use StudioToStage

  • You must be at least 13, or older if the law where you live requires it (for example, 16 in some European countries).
  • If you’re under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you and is responsible for how you use StudioToStage.
  • You can’t use StudioToStage if the law stops you, including if you’re in a country under a US government embargo or on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

2. Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your password secret. Don’t share your account; invite people to your family.
  • You’re responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

3. Families and sharing

  • Everyone in a family can see, change and delete that family’s dancers and everything linked to them, including results, photos and videos. Only invite people you trust.
  • Family owners create invite links and can remove members. Anyone can leave a family. When you leave, you lose access to its dancers, and what you added stays with the family.

4. Your content

  • You keep ownership of everything you add: details, results, notes, photos, videos, audio and documents.
  • You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process (for example, resize and compress) and display your content to you and your families, only to provide StudioToStage. It ends when the content is deleted, apart from backups that expire within about 60 days.
  • You must have the right to add what you add. If you add a child as a dancer, you confirm you’re their parent or guardian or have their permission. Photos and videos of other people, especially other children, need their consent (or their parent’s or guardian’s). Studios and competitions may also have their own rules about filming.
  • Keep your own copies of anything important. We back up the database, but not uploaded files.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use StudioToStage to:

  • break the law or anyone’s rights, including privacy, image and copyright;
  • upload anything harmful, hateful, sexual, exploitative or abusive, or anything that sexualises or endangers children;
  • harass, bully or threaten anyone;
  • get into other people’s accounts or data, spread malware, or interfere with or overload the service;
  • copy, resell or reverse-engineer StudioToStage, except where the law allows it.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

6. Reporting problems

To report content, abuse or a copyright infringement, or to ask about anything in these terms, use the details under Contact. For copyright, include what the work is, where it appears and your contact details. We aim to respond within a few days.

7. The service

  • StudioToStage is free and has no in-app purchases. If we ever add paid features, we’ll tell you first, and you won’t be charged without agreeing.
  • We work to keep it running and your information safe, but it may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change features or limits (such as the 50 MB file size).
  • If we decide to close StudioToStage, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice so you can download your files.
  • Links to other websites (such as competition sites) and Google or Apple sign-in are provided by others under their own terms, and we aren’t responsible for them.
  • Schedules, times and results are what you and your family enter. Always check official studio and competition information.

8. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights you have under consumer laws that can’t be excluded, such as the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer laws of the EU, the UK or where you live, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows: StudioToStage is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted or error-free; we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for losing content you didn’t keep a copy of; and because StudioToStage is free, our total liability to you is limited to AUD $100. If you live in the EU or the UK, we are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or our negligence.

9. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time (see Delete your account). We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or when the law requires it, and we’ll tell you why where we can. Sections 4 (backups), 8, 11 and 12 continue after your account ends.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the law or StudioToStage changes. For changes that matter, we’ll update the date above and ask you to accept the new version in the app before you continue. If you don’t accept, you can delete your account.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia. If you live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to sort it out.

12. App Store and Google Play

If you got the app from Apple’s App Store

  1. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  2. You may use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions (it can also be used by other accounts linked to you through Family Sharing).
  3. We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support of the app.
  4. If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple will refund the price you paid for it (if any). To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  5. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it doesn’t meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
  6. If anyone claims the app or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
  7. You confirm you’re not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and you’re not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to us (see Contact).
  9. You must also follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile data agreement.
  10. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, can enforce them against you.

If you got the app from Google Play

These terms are between you and us, not Google. Google Play’s Terms of Service also apply to downloading the app, and Google isn’t responsible for the app or its support.

13. General

  • These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about StudioToStage.
  • If part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don’t enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can’t transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to someone who takes over StudioToStage, and it won’t reduce your rights.
